Method. near = d · far = d + c − offset. FOV requirement: a×b (+10% if enabled), orientation-agnostic. Checks: working range covers near–far · stereo (and optionally color) FOV covers workspace at near · Z-accuracy @ far ≤ requirement · pixels on smallest item side @ far ≥ minimum · XY pixel size @ far ≤ detail/2 (Nyquist) when detail given. Passing cameras ranked by Z-accuracy + XY resolution at far plane (best measurement performance where it is hardest).
